The Next Big Day

There are, without a doubt, many BIG days in our lives. From our own individual viewpoint however, many of those BIG days seem like the BIGGEST day ever at the time. Days when it seems nothing will ever be better than that specific day--when nothing will ever change your life like the events of that one day. Of course, until the next BIG day.

Today is our next BIG day. In less than four hours, we will leave on a 2-hour drive to meet the woman who is in all likelihood the first mother of our baby. A woman who as of right now only knows us from about 12 photos and a 3-page profile. A woman who told her SW that she chose us because she just felt 'connected' to us, but she didn't know why exactly. An amazing, loving, generous, mature woman whom I can describe with these words without having ever even seen her before. As big a day as it was the day we received our call that we'd been matched, today is even bigger.

Since our meeting was originally scheduled for Tuesday and was moved back to today, I have had extra time to dwell, question, fear, doubt, ponder and near drive myself nuts over how today is going to actually unfold. Yet, I am not particularly nervous. I am excited, a tad anxious to move the clock forward...but not really nervous. I believe that I actually have quite a bit of peace about today, praise God for that.

Today is BigTex's 32nd birthday. Hopefully we'll be getting together with my parents for dinner following our BIG day and the drive home. And after sharing and toasting and singing happy birthday to my hubs, our focus will shift and we'll be able to confidently celebrate our NEXT big day--the day that our baby is going to be born!
