Brrrrr

It was -16 this morning when I woke up. The record set in 1994 is -20. Is there really a difference once you get past -10? Best part of the day is that it is sunny with a grey-blue sky and we haven't see sun in weeks. I know that there are places that have been colder recently, but for NE Ohio, this is quite unusual. And of course, today is the day I took my long-haired kitty to get her quarterly grooming (ie, shave-down to reduce hairballs, vomit, and furball tumbleweeds). Sorry Shadow!

My big day for work was on Wednesday. I had my boss and a speaker/consultant that I had to entertain all day. Actually, we had two planned programs and I was able to get three additional important appointments to take the consultant to. The day went very smoothly, we got everywhere on time and people were very receptive to the consultant. Despite a hotel snafu in the very early morning (I had booked them at the wrong hotel--the morning appointment was at a different but same-name hotel up the street) and a mid-afternoon blizzard, the day went off just as planned. I think my boss was pleased, the consultant seemed to think his time was well spent, and after a 14 hour day carting them around, I got home at 9PM utterly exhausted. But relieved and content that I had done my job and just maybe, done it well.

Now I'm sitting at home waiting on the Fed.ex guy who is supposed to deliver my giant box of meds for IVF #3 before 10:30AM. Then I have an appointment, have to run to Target, need to pick up my shaved kitty at the groomer, and home for a work teleconference. DH comes home from South Carolina at 6 (he was working there this week) and I was hoping to make something from my new Barefoot Contessa cookbook for dinner tonight. I don't think I'll have time and since DH is sporting a fabulous head cold as of yesterday, maybe we'll just have soup.
