Calm is back, for now

Yesterday morning I found myself debating how we should next contact the EPs. Email? Phone call? Text? We had last spoken on Friday afternoon and I knew they had had a busy weekend. I finally decided, while driving home to escape the impending snowstorm, that if we didn't hear anything from them by Wednesday, I would give EM a call.

How giddy was I when the phone rang yesterday afternoon and it was EM? We spoke for about 10 minutes, chatting about the weekend, the snow and getting caught up on the baby. The conversation was MUCH easier this time and she sounded pretty rested and in very good spirits. I continue to be amazed at how God has had every single moment of this planned out, how just when I was getting desperate to connect with EM, He puts us in touch. He is so Good.

Today I am joyful--happy to know that we are getting so close. This waiting is for the birds, you know.

Notes from our phone call are below, for Baby Tulip or Baby Turtle.

Darling Baby,

I spoke with your FirstMommy today. She sounded so upbeat and cheerful, despite the fact that we are recovering from a huge snowstorm. We both agreed that we had gotten a foot or more of the white stuff, and they are calling for an additional 6" tonight. Neither of us can wait for spring! FirstMommy told me about her weekend--her mom and stepdad came down for a visit on Sunday. She said it was so nice to see her family, she had been really missing them since their last visit at Christmas.

We talked about YOU, of course. She said she feels you all the time...you are one very active little person in there! But, it could be that you're also just running out of room and so the pokes come without trying on your part! FirstMommy also said she had been very hungry the past few days and was having some cravings she hasn't had before. Today she wanted French Toast! FirstDaddy took her out for breakfast so you would be happy--and a big plate of french toast later, you were!

After a topple in the snow over the weekend, FirstMommy said her balance is getting a bit off. Luckily, FirstDaddy was right there and you and FirstMommy are both just fine. But, she said she's opted to stay in the car instead of traversing the snow piles to get into the store from now on. And FirstDaddy has taken to holding onto her arm everytime they walk outside. Hopefully you won't be too much longer and FirstMommy can get back to walking on her own! Too funny!

We love you Baby Tulip or Baby Turtle! We are getting so excited to meet you! Officially, only 3w1d to go...but we'll be ready if you want to come sooner. Just wait until the snow stops, so FirstMommy can get to the hospital!

Hugs and kisses--
Momma

That's so great that EM called you and connected! It's so exciting - for me anyway who has none of the worry! Are you ready - is the baby's room done? I think I remember that you did that a while back when you first got accepted?
Can't wait to meet little turtle or little tulip!
