Two years ago today, I decided I needed to get some things off my heart. I had tried physically writing in a journal many times, but I never stuck with it and my hand always hurt. I couldn't keep up with my thoughts as I was writing out long-hand. I had stumbled on this ALI community (I don't really even know how anymore) and I was amazed, I mean AMAZED, that there were people out there who shared their stories so openly. They were people who told all the details, all the emotions, all the fears in their lives--and they had or were experiencing the journey that BigTex and I were just starting to process as a long, long road.
This space was going to be like my own little corner of therapy--where I could finally acknowledge that I was All Grown Up and it wasn't a damn bit like I thought it was going to be. Reading my first post, Yes, it's true, now is kinda funny. Who knew that my first topic, "having a family" would still be my ONLY topic most days, 2 years later?
But I can promise you that everything that has transpired in the past 24 months has not been for naught. Because it has brought me to today, where we have been matched with a wonderful, amazing, loving couple and we will hopefully be starting our family with a precious baby due in only four weeks.
I am honored, I am humbled, and I am so very thankful for those of you who have accepted me into this community of bloggers. Your support and friendship continues to sustain me through the good days and my days of neurosis. Thanks for a great two years, and I can't wait to share the next many years with you too!
