6w1d on 09/09/09.

I am okay. Thank you so much for the nice messages and comforting thoughts after my last post. Amazed, yet again, at how wonderful complete strangers can be. I am okay.

We'll go with short blurbs to help clear out the jumbley-mess that is my brain this week:
  • Still waiting. No word from the agency or our SW despite two messages. This seems to be a theme on several other adopters' blogs. Still waiting.

  • Our dear friends, C & J, that went on vacay with us to Charleston shared that they are expecting their first. And the timing is such that they must have been very relaxed from our trip when they got home to Atlanta! If only that's all it took for us...

  • The Mom and the Stranger are bringing home EasternStar from Russia this weekend, hopefully! She is so frickin' cute...and she looks just like TinyDancer. I am really starting to believe that our little adopted ones find US, not the other way around. Fingers crossed for uneventful travel home.

  • My fat, white, fuzzy kitty that is spoiled rotten and loved beyond belief had a tumor removed from her upper lip yesterday. I was as nervous for her surgery as I was for my own back in April. Actually, I was more nervous. I could not get the doom-&-gloom thoughts out of my brain. I was so very happy to have her back in my arms last night. I don't know how I'd get along without her right now. The biopsy will be back in a week, we hope it doesn't bring any bad news with it.

  • Work seems to be trending in a good place right now. I actually got some very good news today from one of my customers--I'm going to be cautiously optimistic about this and keep working hard to make it as easy as possible for them to make the shift to my side of the table. There are also a few more good things happening in the customer-pool, but it is still going to take some time and patience to pull them fully through. I hope I can hang in there until then!

  • I reread my entire blog from the beginning of this year. It is amazing to me how far we have come and how quickly the time has gone. I didn't even remember having written some of the posts--I guess my old age is catching up to me (haha).

  • Congrats to G & H who brought home their new daughter! They went from waiting to family in like, two seconds flat! How awesome!

There's probably more but right now I'm all over the place. So, I'll sign off for now. Hope everyone's having a good week so far!
