It's on

We've got the transfer scheduled at the hospital at 12:30 today. DH can't go so my mom is taking me. That should be interesting!

Anyway, I spoke with the embryologist finally yesterday afternoon to get an update. They are supposed to call by 10AM and when I didn't hear from them, I was assuming the worst--that we had lost all our embies and wouldn't be doing a transfer. But, she was just waiting to schedule me with the other RE (as ours is out of town today). She reviewed the status, which is in her mind very good. We still have 3 embies dividing and looking normal like before, and 1 of the slow 2 may have started dividing by last night. So yay!

I was really concerned that we had 10 mature and only 5 fertilized with the ICSI, with really only 3 looking normal. I asked her if this was unusual or abnormal in any way. She explained that what was unusual was that of the 10 eggs retreived, all 10 were mature. She would have expected only 5 or 6 to be mature, with 3-4 fertilizing normally. The five that didn't fertilized were already showing signs of degrading--we'd missed their window. She thinks that if I had triggered one day sooner, I'd have gotten 10 eggs but only 5-6 would have been mature. The extra 24hrs before I triggered allowed the less mature ones to catch up but the more mature ones were already on the down slope.

So based on that, I feel much better. Who knows if it is true but she's the egg lady so I'll take it. And at 12:30 we'll see the first photos of our embies and transfer the 3 best looking ones (or the only 3 if that's the case). Fingers crossed and prayers for God's will.

More later!
